Jess Bhamra is an 18-year-old girl living in the suburbs of London. She dreams of playing professional football, just like her idol David Beckham. Her Indian family, by contrast, have more traditional plans for their daughter and firmly believe that she should prioritise her education and marriage. Jules, a talented footballplayer, one day discovers Jess’ talent and suggests that she plays in the local girls team.
