When the French film ”La haine” premiered in 1995, it caused a lot of discussions. Today, more than fifteen years later, we’ve read about and seen youths rioting in London, Paris and Malmö, making this film current still. We follow two friends, Zaid and Vinz, who are of Arabic and Jewish heritage. We also meet Hubert who is black. One night they leave the suburb where they live and head to the centre of Paris.. This is a film about alienation, segregation, identity, self-image and the role of the media in a full-on power play between the powers that be. AH
