Time flies and soon we are getting closer to the 36th edition of BUFF Film Festival. The festival program will remain secret a little bit longer, but for now we are releasing the structure of the festival week. Next year will be a little bit different as the festival will start on the weekend and continue into the following week. The dates for BUFF Film Festival 2019 are Saturday the 23rd of March to Friday the 29th of March.

Opening Ceremony

Next years opening ceremony will take place Saturday the 23rd of March in the afternoon. As usual it will include a film screening and festivities.

Family Weekend

The last years BUFF have organised the Family Saturday – a film fest for the whole family during one day at cinema Panora. At BUFF Film Festival 2019 we are extending the Family Saturday to a full Family Weekend with films and workshops on Saturday 23rd of March and Sunday 24th of March.

Deaf Film Festival

For the third year in a row BUFF are collaborating with Deaf Film Festival Skåne, screening several films with sign language as the main communication form. Deaf Film Festival Skåne will be held on Saturday the 23rd of March.

BUFF Film and Media Literacy Days

Monday the 25th of March will consist of a seminar program focusing on media literacy, copyright and film pedagogic. The annual A Day for Film in Education will be held on Tuesday the 26th of March– a day of inspiration for everyone who works, or wants to work, with film and moving images in school.

BUFF Industry Days

On Wednesday and Thursday the 27th–28th of March there will be seminars about film industry topics. One of them is Work in progress, where films in development are presented for an audience the 27th of March.

Film Screenings

The majority of the festival program is of course film screenings during daytime where the majority of the audience are children and young people visiting with their schools, but are open for everyone who wants to see good film. These film screenings will be between Monday 25th of March and Friday 29th of March.

Evening Screenings and Hangout

On evenings from Monday the 25th to Thursday the 28th there will be film screenings and events at cinema Spegeln. The cinema will be the obvious place to hang out for all curious and social film lovers during the festival week.

Award Ceremony

The Award Ceremony at BUFF Film Festival 2019 where the award winners are presented will take place on Thursday the 28th of March.

The full program for BUFF Film Festival 2019 will be released the 7th of February.
