Vilde is fascinated by Japanese culture and dreams about the Tokyo borough of Harajuku. She hangs out with like-minded friends at Oslo’s Central Station. It’s Christmas, and her mum is in an unusually good mood – but a short while later, Vilde is informed that her mum has committed suicide. She is suddenly in the position of having to contact her biological father and during the space of a few short hours, she’s forced to go through a lot. Vilde’s life takes a turn in a new direction.
Jamila is 13 years old and lives a normal teenage life in Sweden which she doesn’t want to end. Then she sees the envelope. Jamila’s family have had their asylum request rejected. Towing her little sister behind her and pretending that nothing has happened, Jamila goes to school and meets up her friends. While practicing for their dance exam in the playground, she suddenly sees them: the police.
