The Region Skåne Short Film Award

Region Skåne’s Cultural Board established the award with the purpose of raising the status and importance of short film within the children and youth film genre. The award is given to the filmmaker who made the festival’s best short film. Quality and innovation are important criteria when selecting the recipient.

Prize money: 100 000 Swedish kronor.

Måns Billing

Talent developer at Game Habitat in Malmö. He has a background as a games designer and is particularly interested in storytelling in all its various forms and guises.

Stina Wirsén

Illustrator, scriptwriter, director and artist who recently created the short film ”Historien om Bodri”, based on Hédi Fried’s experiences during the Holocaust. Her film Vem är vem?, based on her children’s books, premieres at BUFF 2024.

Max Tellving

Director, scriptwriter and producer at SVT. Recently created the drama series Hack my heart with Frank Dorsin as the lead actor.

Fredrik Sjögren

President of Region Skåne’s Culture Committee.

Rebecca Padar

Works with children’s rights at the Region Skåne Administration of Culture. Has a background in political science and has worked with children’s rights issues both within civil society and the public sector.
