The Region Skåne Short Film Award

The Region Skåne Short Film Award was established by the region’s cultural committee with the aim of raising the status and importance of short films within children’s and youth films. The award recognizes the filmmaker who has made the festival’s best short film. Quality and innovation are important criteria for selecting the award winners.

Prize: 100.000 kr

The winner is presented March 20th.

Inuk Jørgensen

Director, producer and film teacher from Greenland. His short films have been screened at over 200 festivals worldwide.

Stella Nilsson

Screenwriter and filmmaker who, among other things, is the writer of the award-winning short Bara en lek. Awarded Region Sörmland Children’s Film Residency 2025.

Johan Simonsson

Filmmaker, director and film consultant at FilmCentrum Syd, Malmö. Responsible for talent development.

Malena Janson

Associate Professor in Film Studies and Senior Lecturer in Child and Youth Studies at Stockholm University. Her research includes children’s film and TV, film pedagogy, and representations of children in moving-image media.
