Organ After Work: La Ballon Rouge – Film with organ improvisation

Organ After Work: La Ballon Rouge – Film with organ imporovisation. . . Director: .

Combine the experience of watching the film Le Ballon Rouge (The red ballon) accompanied with live organ music by Carl Adam Lindström.

The idea of combining film with recorded sound is almost as old as film itself. Before the technology became available, live music was usually performed at the cinemas to capture and enhance the moods of the film. This evening Carl Adam Landström’s improvisation on the organ adds an extra dimension to the film Le Ballon Rouge (The Red Balloon). The 1956 short film was directed by Albert Lamorisse and was awarded the Louis Delluc Prize, The Palm d’Or for Best Short Film and an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
