Family day

Panora Foyer
Free of charge
10:00–16:00

Welcome to a family day dedicated to film. We screen the best films of the year for our youngest audiences. In the foyer, you can craft, have “fika”, and try your hand at animated filmmaking.

    Try needle felting and animation!
Create your own character out of wool and bring it to life in an animated film with Den pedagogiska designbyrån! Using needle felting, we will make soft wool characters—figures that can then be used to create stop-motion films in our animation boxes. Through stop-motion animation, your felted characters come to life and move through a world of dreams, nightmares and imagination. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and more experienced creators. No prior knowledge is required. Come and try felting, experiment and discover how textiles can come alive on film! Of course, you get to take your characters home.

    Crafts & Activities
Join in crafts, games, and fun activities for both young and old in the Panora foyer! Activities include an exciting laughter spinner, a quiz trail, table hockey (with a chance to challenge a real Swedish Finn) and fun crafts. Some activities are connected to the premiere of the Swedish Film Institute’s short film initiative MiNi MiNo, humorous films in minority languages for children aged 6–9.

In collaboration with Malmö Suomi association, BRIS, and the Roma Information and Knowledge Centre.

    Café & Refreshments
P11 from LB07 staff the “fika” table this year.

Adult daycare – new this year!
This year, we are introducing a long-awaited new feature on Family Day: adult daycare. Here, children attending the festival can temporarily leave their accompanying adults.Want to watch a film, do crafts, play table hockey or try animation on your own without your adult constantly asking “Are we leaving soon?” Just drop them off at BUFF’s adult daycare. We provide calm, safe adult activities at the daycare, such as reading the newspaper, drinking coffee, discussing important grown-up matters, checking work emails, and nodding knowingly at other adults. We promise to take good care of them so that you can fully enjoy the festival.

Everyone is happy.
