While the film explores historical events and gives insights into a unique culture, its message about being a compassionate human being resonates with us all in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Winner:<\/strong> Uproar<\/a>, dir:\u00a0Paul Middleditch, Hamish Bennett<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIt\u2019s 1980\u2019s New Zealand and Josh, who is half M\u0101ori, attends all-white boys\u2019 school. On the streets, M\u0101ori protesters rally against the visit of apartheid South Africa’s rugby team. In the middle of the commotion, Josh needs to decide who he wants to be and what is worth fighting for. An engaging and humorous film about identity, family and politics.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n Motivation:<\/strong> Throughout the whole film the audience is immersed into the main character\u2019s world making his experience very relatable to teens, the film also does a fantastic job of highlighting his life, not exploiting his death. It puts a lot of effort into showing him as more than just a victim of bullying, more than just a victim of suicide and mental health problems. They showed him as the person he was, a boy who lived a happy and vibrant life, although it ended far too early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Winner:<\/strong> The Boy With Pink Pants<\/a>, dir:\u00a0Margherita Ferri<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA pair of red trousers turn pink in the wash. Andrea\u2019s new friend Christian is exciting but unpredictable and leaks secrets to the class at school. These become the sparks that ignite Andreas’ already shaky existence. An engaging Italian youth film based on real events.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n Motivation:<\/strong> Without introduction, we enter the girls’ world, follow them around the neighborhood and see everything through their eyes right up until the credits, where the line between film and reality blurs even more. And it made us ask ourselves \u2014 what makes us happy.
