In 2023 we are celebrating 40 years as Sweden’s leading film festival for a young audience. Our film submission is now open and we’re looking forward to hear about your film. Submission is done via the festival platform Eventival. Find guidelines, award info and more below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please read through carefully before submission.<\/p>\n\n

The 40th edition of BUFF, the international film festival for children and young people in Malm\u00f6, Sweden, will take place March 11-17, 2023. Please read all the instructions carefully before submitting a film.<\/b><\/h4>\n\n

Deadline: \u00a0November 20th 2022.<\/p>\n\n

BUFF\u2019s aim is to bring world class cinema to a young audience. Please note that we do not accept submissions of films that have been screened officially before the year 2022.<\/p>\n

We accept features, documentaries, animations and short films from all over the world.<\/p>\n

The main target groups for BUFF are children and young people (age 3-19).<\/p>\n

We only accept films with first official screening date after January 1st, 2022.<\/p>\n

Some films will be selected for one of our competitions, but most of the films will be screened outside competition. For films in competition, we are mainly looking for films that will have the Swedish, European or World Premiere at BUFF.<\/p>\n\n
