As a volunteer at BUFF 2026, you’ll get insights into the behind-the-scenes work of the festival – while meeting other film enthusiasts, and gaining new experiences.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The festival takes place in Malm\u00f6 between the 7-13th of March and it is mainly during the festival week that we need extra help, but also some days before and after. As a volunteer you have the perks to get an accreditation. This means that during the festival week you will have access to all screenings, seminars, mingles and our gala dinner at Malm\u00f6 City Hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All work is voluntary and tasks vary based on your wishes and interests. When volunteering at BUFF we prefer that you do at least two shifts. If you work a longer shift, or the shift  is during lunch or dinner time, you will be served a meal. You can read more about our different volunteer roles below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cinema host<\/b><\/p>\n

As a cinema host, you are the first person the audience meets and remembers with a smile! The role includes selling and checking tickets, taking care of the audience, presenting films before the screening and informing them about the festival. As a Cinema host you will work in teams of 3-4 people together with the venue manager. Important qualities are that you are social, open-minded and have knowledge about our programme (which you will receive before your first shift). <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n

Guest Host<\/b><\/p>\n

Every year, guests come from all over the world to be part of BUFF. Actors, directors and producers travel long distances to represent their films during the festival. As a guest host, you will help our festival guests settle in Malm\u00f6 and create a memorable experience for the guest together with our guest manager. Many of the guests are international, so it’s great if you are comfortable communicating in English (if you speak more languages, it’s great!) and can easily find your way around Malm\u00f6.<\/span><\/p>\n

Event Host<\/b><\/p>\n

The event host\u00a0 prepares the area for the event, welcoming visitors, assisting and answering questions during the day, and helping out to close the area. It’s an exciting event to help out with if you enjoy hosting and meeting new people!<\/span><\/p>\n
